We are finally back with yet another blog post on a field trip. Yes indeed we were told to head out and scout for a printer!

Kidding. We are not talking about the Canon or HP Printer you might have at home but instead we are talking about a vendor that we can work with to print out magazine.

It is the 9th of August and before I continue, on behalf of the team, I would like to wish Singapore a Happy 50th Birthday! The julibee weekend has gotten all five of us going on and off from work. But fear not, we are definitely working our way to getting a complete magazine by the end of this week. We are all stressed, nervous yet excited to see this magazine come to life. So without going off track from the field trip out to look for a vendor, here was what we've learnt and our thoughts on print too. Or at least the printing business in Singapore.

We met at a pretty early time and the early birds amongst the five of us managed to get a little something for breakfast while waiting for the rest.

We made our way towards sunshine plaza, the place known for housing a lot of printing vendors.

We went into a total of 4 printing shops because we were pretty early and some printing shops don't provide the service that we were looking for.

Going into our first shop, Poster Connection Pte Ltd. Sadly, they do not do perfect binding. But we did manage to find 2 type of paper that we like in the deck they had.

Moving on, we continued to look for shops that were open and does book binding, specifically perfect binding.

We came upon this printing shop, Ben Quick Print Services which prints almost anything that you can imagine! The sales personel wasn't the most friendly one but I guess she was probably experiencing tuesday blues. Everyone has those days!

Anyway, she did assist us and gave us two samples of the type of bindings they do. The staple binding and the perfect binding that we've been looking for.

We flipped through the type of paper they had too and thought we could consider this for our magazine for it is glossy and not too thin or thick.

And here's another from the same shop.

We went on to Brilliant Color Printing Service and they do provide perfect binding!

After looking through their paper sample, we were very sure this would probably be the place we will be doing our magazine print. Here are the type of papers that we are considering for the magazine.

Wanting to find more options, we went on to look for them. We stopped at Colorvizio and found a bunch of papers that we loved. Sadly they do not provide perfect binding for we have too little in terms of the number of pages.

Isn't it amazing? Printing on a clear transparent sheet. It would be great if we could do that for ours too.

We wanted to pop by true colours and ask for their rates but they were insanely busy from the moment we were at sunshine plaza until the moment we were about to leave.

That was all for our field trip to the printing shops. Although it was short and we hardly could find shops that does perfect binding for a booklet so thin, we are still glad we came down to sunshine plaza and did our search beforehand.
